Padstow’s Latest Eatery
Exciting news! A new eatery has opened on the former site of The Clipper. The Stable opened on the 16th Februrary and is great new addition to already reknowed Padstow food scene.
Offering fresh sourdough pizzas, craft ciders and an all-day breakfast menu, this eatery caters to a wide variety of tastes. From its harbour-front location you can enjoy fantastic views and a lively atmosphere, as you eat some tasty food. If you want to keep warm, but still want the view, The Stable’s got you covered, just grab a table behind the impressive windows at the front of the resturant. Its menu options also mean it’s a great spot for any time of day, from a relaxed breakfast fry-up to a family dinner.
The Stable prides itself on partnering with South West producers to deliver their delicious dishes and a diverse range of brews. Originally founded in Dorset, the chain has expanded across the South West and beyond with locations in costal and city destinations including Falmouth and Bristol.
It’s Padstow branch excels in the relaxed and friendly atmosphere The Stable is known for. Having eaten there on several occasions, my favorite dish on thier menu is Padstow’s exclusive ‘local slice’ called The Harbour Master with toppings including; two kinds of mushrooms, Thorner’s bacon and Davidstow 40 month matured cheddar. With two of those toppings hailing from the South West (Davidstow cheddar is produced locally in Cornwall and Thorner’s bacon comes from Somerset) you’re in for a winner. It’s very tasty! You’ll also be happy to hear that Cornish sea salt goes into the pizza sauce and that the oils on the table also come from the South West too!
We’ve also tried the breakfasts at The Stable and they’re also a great option. There’s plenty of choice for those hankering for a hearty way to start the day. It’s also a great place if you’re vegan or vegetarian with plenty of delicious options including Pizzas, as well as a pie, a wrap and perhaps most excitingly a vegan chocolate brownie!
So, whether you’re a pizza lover, a cider enthusiast, or simply searching for a relaxing spot with stunning harbour views, The Stable is definately worth a visit. The commitment to fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a warm, welcoming atmposhere means it’s great for any time of day during your visit.
