So, join us as we explore some of the best places to end an unforgettable day in North Cornwall.

The Shipwrights

The Shipwrights is situated right on the harbour and it’s a fantastic spot for warming up after a day at the beach. It’s also the closest pub to the path to the beaches. The Shipwrights serves fantastic fish and chips, featuring delicious Cornish Hake in a beer batter. If you’re still hungry afterwards, I’d suggest thier saffron bun & butter pudding. It’s an absolute treat, providing pure comfort on a winter’s evening.

You also get a choice of two dining experiences at the Shipwrights. Downstairs in the main pub area you can start your meal off with a couple of pints and a casual round of pool, before enjoying a satisfying meal in it’s lively atmosphere. If you’d prefer the resturant expereince, head upstairs for wonderful views of Padstow’s picturesque harbour, perfect for those who prefer a quieter meal. Even if your not in the mood for food it’s still a great place to enjoy the latest sport with a glass of one of a wide selection of beers and ciders on offer.

Caffè Rojano

Caffè Rojano is a blend of laid-back dining and refined flavours curated by the celebrated chef Paul Ainsworth, who also runs the Michelin-starred No.6 just down the road. This resturant is perfect for those who want a taste of his culinary expertise without the fine-dining price tag. It’s the ideal place for warming up after some retail therapy in Padstow.

A must-try at Caffè Rojano is their Funghi pizza, a wood-fired delight combining a delicious sourdough crust with earthy portobello mushrooms alongside other savory and piquant toppings. It’s my favourite pizza in Padstow and is perfect for sharing or enjoying all to yourself.

Perhaps what makes this resturant extra special is it’s history, having operated in various forms since 1974! It is a true Padstow insitution that will provide you with a memorable meal in a sophisticated setting. It’s an essential dining experence in the town.

(If you’d rather enjoy my reccomended pizza at home it’s also available for collection!)

The Golden Lion

The Golden Lion is a true gem, offering a warm and traditional vibe that’s perfect for a crisp autumn or winter evening. With it’s large wooden beams and cosy nooks it’s a place where you can settle in, relax, and enjoy some hearty pub fare with a side of history.

One dish that stands out here is Sarah’s fish pie, a dish that’s as comforting as it is tasty! It’s packed with fresh, tender pieces of fish and jucy prawns, topped with creamy mash and baked till golden and bubbling. It’s the kind of food that warms you from the inside out - a perfect choice after a crisp day walking the Cornish coast.

For those who want a wonderful and authentic gasto-pub experience, The Golden Lion delivers with some of the best food Padstow has to offer in a warm family-friendly setting. So, it’s definately worth popping in on your next visit to Padstow, but I’d advise booking, as it’s very popular.

Burgers & Fish

If you’re looking for a unique twist on classic comfort food in Padstow, Burgers & Fish is definately worth a visit. This modern spot offers an upscale spin on classic favorites with a focus on quality ingredients and bold flavours. It feels relaxed and inviting, making it a great stop after a busy day of exploring what North Cornwall has to offer.

A standout on the menu - and a personal favourite - is the Beetroot Blues burger. This isn’t your average burger, as despite a traditional beef patty it’s main draw is the pickled beetroot, beetroot relish and tangy blue cheese that rests on top of the meat. It’s a satifying balance of rich, savory and slightly sweet notes complimented by a toasted bun and salad. I’d also suggest, if your a fan of truffle, to ask to swap your included fries for their Posh Fries which are topped with parmesan and truffle oil and are absolutley top-notch!

Burgers & Fish serves up revinvented classics in a comfortable setting. So, if your craving a burger, it’s the perfect Padstow spot for dinner.

(If you’d rather enjoy my burger recommendation at home it’s also available for collection!)

Padstow’s dining scene perfectly balances tradition with creativity, making it a destination not just for stunning coastal views but for memorable meals to match! So, whether you’re in the mood for a classic pub meal, refined Italian-inspired fare or something with a unique twist, Padstow has a spot for you to warm up and satisfy your cravings as winter draws closer. So treat yourself and those you love to some of Cornwall’s best food. Bon appétit!
